Reasons to give thanks to the Lord:
Psalm 103: 1 – 6
Protection, Deliverance, forgiveness, Salvation, healing, peace, and many other blessings.
- PRAISE/GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART. Psalm 9:1 – 2; Psalm103:1

Seven Hebrew words with different ways of praising the Lord:
- “Barak” – to bless the Lord while kneeling.
Psalm 95:6 “O come, let us worship and kneel down; let us kneel (barak) before the Lord, our maker”
- “Halal/tehillah” – to praise with loud music, noise and dance like a crazy person/shout Hallelujah to the Lord.
Psalm 149: 3 Let them praise (halal) his name in the dance; let them sing praise with timbrel and harps.
- “Yadah” – to give thanks to the Lord while lifting hands
2Chr. 20:21 “I will bless the Lord as long as I live; I will (yadah) lift up my hands in your name.”
- “Shabach” – to shout, clap and make noise of joy.
Psalm 47:1 “Clap your hands, all you nations; shout(shabach) to God with cries of joy.”
- Zamar – praise the Lord with music.
Psalm 33:2 Praise (zamar) the Lord with harp; make music to him on the ten-stringd lyre …play skillfully.
- Towdah – Thanksging associated with offerings and redeeming vows.
