THREE IMPORTANT NEEDS FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN
- A Christian is anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life
- A need is anything that is of great importance or necessity in a person’s life
- This is saying – once a person gets that need – ones’ life continues well
- If we say food, shelter, and clothing are the basic needs of human being; then
- According to Paul (Christian perspective) – The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit are an essential need for every Christian – 2 CHORNSIANS 13:14
- Apostle Paul showed the importance of these three needs in a Christian life by making those needs as his final greetings or last words of farewell to all the Christians and the churches that received his epistles – 2 THESSALONIANS 3:17-18
- Based on what Paul was telling the believers in regard to his final words; we are to take them seriously as we take the final words from a dying person
- Those were the final words of farewell and blessing from the Apostle Paul to the early church and our church today
NEED #1. THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
- Paul new the importance of Grace to the point he kept wishing this grace to the church
- The fact is that we are saved and we obtain salvation through grace – EPHESIANS 2:8-9
- Paul prayed for the believers to have the grace knowing that the grace will create salvation for them, teach them to reject evils, enable them to do God’s will, and live a godly life in the present age – TITUS 2:11-12 (The Same to us today)
NEED #2. THE LOVE OF GOD
- Apostle Paul did not only see the Grace, but also the Love of God which is the source for the believers to receive the grace and the gift of eternal life as well – JOHN 3:16
- The Love of God beyond giving us eternal life, this love has also reconciled us with God the Father and made Jesus Christ to die for our sins – 1 JOHN 4:9-10
NEED #3. THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
- Paul knew the need for a Christian to have a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit – because He is the helper and teaches believers to know God better – JOHN 14:16, 26
- Relationship with the Holy Spirit bears the fruits in a believers’ life – GALATIANS 5:22-23
- It also helps believers live a life full of joy, peace, trust, and hope in God due to the enablement of the Holy Spirit – ROMANS 15:13
In conclusion, I wish and pray for each one of us not to lack the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God our Father, and an active fellowship with the Holy Spirit in our walk of faith.
LET US PRAY and share the Grace:
“May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forever more, Amen”.
