THANK GOD BY FAITH FOR YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

THANK GOD BY FAITH FOR YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

Giving thanks is an act of showing gratitude or appreciation for what has been done for you. To thank God by faith is to thank God for what you have prayed for, with an assurance that you have received it.

The bible says in Hebrews 11:1. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (ESV)

READ MARK 11:24 N1V

24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24 (AMP)

24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.

HOW TO THANK GOD BY FAITH

  1. THANK GOD BY FAITH FOR WHO HE IS

PALMS 103:1-5

Psalms 103:1-5 NKJV

1Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s

DAVID SPEAKS TO HIS SOUL TO PRAISE GOD FOR WHO HE IS

David’s life was full of battles and challenges. In Psalms 42:5 He says Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation

  • When He was writing psalms 103, His soul was down therefore He speaks to His soul to praise God for Who He is to him. He Reminds His soul that God FORGIVES, HE IS YOUR HEALER, DELIVERER, PROTECTOR AND PROVIDER
  • He is declaring the word of God to His soul so that He is able to rise and thank God in the midst of the challenges.
  • When You are going through challenges and you are down, you can’t pray or praise God, confess and declare the word of God to your soul
  • Faith comes by hearing the word of God. When you speak the word of God to your soul, you are aligning yourself with the word of God.
  • JOB- When Job had trials, when he had lost almost everything, He kept believing and this is what He said, I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. Job 19:51
  •  Don’t just thank God for what He has done but for who He is. He is your healer, provider, deliverer, protector.

IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS

1 Thessalonians 5:18

18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (NKJV)

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (NIV)

  • It is not the will of God for you to suffer but it is the will of God for you to thank and praise Him in everything, in every circumstance
  • Faith helps you see beyond your problems. By faith you praise God because in the midst of trouble and storms you can see His goodness.
  • When you thank God and focus on who He is, you receive your joy and victory.

Example: PAUL AND SILAS Acts 16:16-40

Paul and Silas were put in prison because of the Gospel. They were beaten and chained but they chose to praise God in the midst of trouble. When they were praying and praising God, God’s power hit the prison, the place was shaken and they were set free.

  • THANK GOD BY FAITH FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS

2 Chronicles 20:18-22 NIV

18 Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord. 19 Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.

20 Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his] holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:

“Give thanks to the Lord,
    for his love endures forever.”

22 As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

  • When the children of Israel under the leadership of Jehoshaphat, were attacked by their enemies, they fasted and prayed.
  • God gave them a word through a prophet. God promised to fight their battles.
  • They were told to take singers in the battlefield to lead praise and worship and sing
  • They prayed, believed the word of God and gave thanks by faith. They thanked God for His faithfulness.
  • They sang a song of praise to give thanks to God for His faithfulness.
  • When they started to praise, God gave them victory.

LUKE 17:11-17 NIV

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
