DPC PRAYER AND FASTING: Day Three – 6th July, 2022
Main Prayer: THE PRAYER OF JABEZ
“… Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, …”. (1Chronicles 4: 9-10).
Wilkinson, B. (2000) writes: “such prayer is not self-centered act it might appear, but a supremely spiritual one and exactly the kind of request our Father – God longs to hear”
As we pray the prayer of Jabez, let us think through – Psalm 24: 1-2 “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; …”
Prayers:
1. To bless – in the biblical sense means to impact supernatural favor.
• Pray for God’s blessings over your life in all areas – Deuteronomy 28:1-14
• Pray for His unlimited goodness that only God has the power to give to us.
2. Enlarged territory – a place of one’s own with plenty of rooms to grow.
• Ask God to enlarge your life so you can make a great impact and accomplish more
• Pray and ask God for more miracles – things to happen that wouldn’t normally happen- Ephesians 3:20-21
3. The hand of God would be with us – to be surrounded by God’s power.
• Pray for the powerful hand of God to protect and guide us – Joshua 4:19-24
• Pray for God’s enablement in serving His Kingdom – Acts 11:21
4. Pray to be kept safe from evil – that God will keep and sustain our lives.
• Pray for protection against evil powers and attacks – Isaiah 54:17
• Pray for energy and strength to endure temptation from Satan.
